How Rankings Work

Community-driven. Transparent. No pay-to-play.

What are Goonbuds rankings?

Goonbuds ranks performers across gender groups and within each interest category (tag). Rankings reflect community engagement, not performer or affiliate revenue. The more a performer accumulates feedback for a niche, the higher they rank for it!

What signals are used?

Rankings are built from three signals:

  • Tags — both how often viewers have tagged a performer for a given interest (engagement) and how many distinct tags they're associated with (breadth) feed into rankings.
  • Reviews — viewer reviews are part of the picture, ensuring rankings reflect proven quality alongside engagement and breadth.
  • Recency — recent activity is factored in, so rankings reflect performers who are currently active rather than historical popularity alone.

Country diversity

Without any correction, a top-100 list on a global platform would be dominated by the largest markets. Goonbuds applies a country cap that limits how many performers from any single country can appear in a top-100 list.

The cap is derived purely from each country's eligible-performer pool size — no country is named in the algorithm and every market is treated identically. Smaller markets get proportionally more visibility; dominant markets are prevented from crowding out the rest of the world.

What is NOT used in rankings

  • Affiliate revenue generated by the performer
  • Tip amounts or show pricing
  • Whether the performer is currently live
  • Any payment to Goonbuds
  • Nationality or country of origin (only pool size matters)
